Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Work started working between manholes B18 and B19 by excavating the trench to the required depth beginning at Manhole B18. After the trench bottom was leveled and prepared, the crew installed approximately 120 feet of 8-inch PVC pipe toward manhole B19 while maintaining the required alignment and grade. Following the pipe installation, backfill material was placed in lifts around the pipe and within the trench. The first two lifts, approximately 6 to 8 inches thick, were compacted using a trench compactor. Additional lifts of backfill material were then placed and compacted using a mini sheep-foot roller to compact throughout the trench.
