Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

The crew continued remediation work at the northwest corner of the foundation area. The previously identified excavation error, where approximately 4 feet had been excavated inside the stake line instead of 4 feet outside the stake line as required by the plans, was addressed. The excavation limits were corrected by re-excavating the area to the proper location and dimensions, and the foundation footprint was re-established based on the stake offsets shown in the wall detail drawings.

In addition, water that had accumulated at the opposite corner of the foundation area was pumped out to provide suitable working conditions. The affected areas were then reworked, and additional excavation was performed as necessary to achieve the required plan dimensions. The sub-grade was trimmed and leveled in preparation for continuation of the foundation construction activities.
