Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to observe the paving contractor NWGP place a 19 mm asphalt binder mix at Nature Walk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #9 and 11. The contractor placed tack coat to the existing curb edges and previous edge of asphalt. The contractor placed approximately 180 tons of binder mix today. The writer also performed density checks and temperature checks during asphalt placement.

1.Temperature checks: 295, 305 and 315 degrees (Fahrenheit).

2.Density checks: 137.4, 138.2, 135.5, 137.7, 139.1 and 136.6 (all in pcf).
