Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Dam Spillway Inspection Report
A request was made by Terry Mathis for a visual inspection of the dam spillway associated with pond construction.
A meeting was held with the onsite superintendent and crew foreman prior to the inspection. During the site visit, it was observed that the bottom of the footing excavation contained water (see attached photos). The contractor was actively pumping the water out at the time of the inspection.
The reinforcing steel installation was approximately 95% complete upon departure from the site. The completed portion of the reinforcement was inspected and found to be in compliance with the project requirements for bar size, spacing and quantity. Plastic sheeting had been placed beneath the reinforcing steel, and the rebar was supported on chairs to provide the required concrete cover (see attached photos).
Photographs of the completed reinforcing steel installation were subsequently taken by another ASEC technician and are included with this report.
No further observations were made.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
