Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Roadway subgrade proof-rolling was performed using a loaded tandem-axle dump truck with approximately 18.56 tons of GAB material. No signs of excessive deflection, rutting, pumping, or yielding were observed, and the subgrade appeared firm and stable at the time of inspection.

Following proof-rolling, loose and disturbed material was removed, and the roadway surface was compacted using a smooth-drum roller. It was noted that an insufficient number of grade stakes were available; therefore, the final subgrade elevation and grade could not be fully verified at all locations.

At the future lot areas, the crew continued fill placement operations. Fill material was delivered using loaded dump trucks, spread and leveled in lifts using a crawler bulldozer, and compacted using a sheep-foot roller. ASEC observed the placement and compaction activities and performed in-place density testing on the compacted fill at selected locations. The density test results met the required job specifications for compaction.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
