Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Performed proof rolling on the GAB roadway using a loaded tandem-axle dump truck. No movement, rutting, or pumping was observed during proof rolling over the tested area. However, at the east-side corner near the roadway entrance adjacent to the curb, an area of unsuitable, moisture-saturated subgrade was identified where standing water had accumulated. It is recommended to undercut and remove the unsuitable material over an approximate area measuring 25 to 28 ft in length, 7 to 9 ft in width, and 4 to 6 in. in depth. Re-compact the exposed sub-grade to a firm and stable condition, then backfill the excavation with GAB and compact it.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
