Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was onsite to observe the curb contractor continue pouring type 2 curbing at Seven Hills unit 3 phase 13 roadway. Observation of subgrade soils at the roadway during traffic during pouring curbing indicates the undercutting of rain saturated soils that will require repairs to stabilize.
The writer also met with members from NWGP to discuss discrepancies of previous place asphalt binder mix at unit 4 phase 1A having moderate cracking and segregated areas with low density readings. The contractor acknowledged discrepancies and wanted to re-observe to determine the cause prior to making repair measures.
The writer also observed the pipe contractor installing and backfilling 18″ RCP storm lines between structures Y6 to Y6.1 and 2.1 to 3.1. The backfill and compaction efforts appeared to be suitable as per job specifications.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
