Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was onsite to observe the grading contractor Thompson continue placing fill for Lots #33 and 34.

The pipe contractor Savannah was also onsite to begin installing 8″ DIP sanitary sewer line crossing the colonial gas pipeline at phase 13 between C 13 and C 14 manhole structures. The grading contractor Thompson also continued hammering rock and excavating at the phase 13 detention pond.

The curb contractor J & W begin installing 30″ curbing at Naturewalk Parkway phase 1 between sanitary sewer manholes #14 and 13 pouring a 3000 mix.

The writer observed the grading contractor Thompson begin hauling fill to the bridge abutment wall with backfill being placed and compacted by the wall contractor RWS covering tension cables between the abutment wall and the dead man footing wall. The contractor placed approximately one lift of compacted fill prior to an afternoon rain event that stopped fill placement.
