Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
A site visit was performed to evaluate the subsurface soil conditions at Lot 09-18. The entire lot was initially probed using a probe rod to identify areas exhibiting comparatively weaker or softer soil conditions. Based on the probing results, two locations were selected for further evaluation using Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing.
At Test Location No. 1, the soil encountered consisted of red silty clayey sand. DCP testing was performed to a depth of approximately 4 feet. The recorded blow counts were 9 blows for the first foot, 7 blows for the second foot, 8 blows for the third foot, and 8 blows for the fourth foot.
At Test Location No. 2, the soil also consisted of red silty clayey sand. The recorded DCP blow counts were 10 blows for the first foot and 8 blows for the second foot. Rock was encountered below approximately 2 feet, preventing further advancement of the test.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
