Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes,and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

A request was made to straightedge the GAB (Graded Aggregate Base) placement in Lane 3, located in the middle of Concourse D (see photos). Parties onsite included Holder, CW Matthews, Kelley Construction, CERN, ATLNext, and others.

Lane 3 was checked using a straightedge parallel to the lane throughout the entire section. The lane was also checked perpendicular to the lane at each panel joint and again at the center of each panel. A string line was placed at the end of Lane 3 to verify the depth.

Following the inspection, all parties present agreed that the GAB (Graded Aggregate Base)  placement was acceptable in regards to straight edge.

No further observations were made.
