Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative visually observed continuous exterior wall footings at Lot #90 for Hawthorne Ridge, 252 Wildflower Ridge Road (project no. 888338). The writer observed backfill along the left side sub wall appearing to be at least 4′ to 5′ in depth. The footings and wall backfill was observed by probing using a rounded end steel rod. The backfill along the sub wall was very loose probing to the full depth of the 3.5 feet rod. The front left corner also probed loose within the top 18″. The left half of the rear footing had soft in place fill materials appearing to have been saturated where some materials had been removed but still probed -12″ to -18″. The right-side exterior wall footing also was observed having consistent loose fill in place probing -12″ to -18″. The front of the exterior wall footing appeared to be firm except at the left side corner. Other areas at the slab under the vapor barrier appears to have saturated loose fill in place. Fill materials in place appeared to have been added possibly during the sub wall installation which was completed while an ASEC representative was not on site.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
