Our ASEC representative visited the site to observe the soil conditions for placing pipe. The site soil conditions were observed to be above optimum moisture content levels. Soils were saturated due to heavy rain. The work area is outlined by the red rectangle on the attached drawing. Photos A, B and C highlight the areas of excessive saturation. Contractor mentioned that the placement of backfill around manhole was temporary and that it would be removed when placement of pipe begins to connect to the second manhole.
