<span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">As requested, our AS Engerineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, </span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.</span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Contractor continued backfill and compaction for Lots #421, #422, #423 and the roadway.</span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Upon arrival, work was already in progress with the contractor placing 16 inch lifts.</span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The soils observed on this date did not appear to be placed in accordance with project drawings and specifications as lifts were placed in amounts too large.</span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The contractor was notified about reducing lift thicknesses to approximately 12 inches. Soils were brought in by dump truck and spread using a Komatsu 51 pxi at a depth of about 14 feet below finished grade. Compaction was performed using a caterpillar 815 F.</span></span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear gauge (#3430, serial #85759). </span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Density test results indicate that the compacted material met the project specification of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698). </span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Density testing result:</span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">P-01 Moisture-Density Relationship (proctor) = 100.4 pcf @ 18.6%</span> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif">T1-elevation -13 feet from finish grade.
