Summary *

At the request of the client’s representative, AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative, Isaac Davis visited the job site to observe and monitor the contractor’s work activities from a quality standpoint to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications.  The following observations were made on site this shift:
<ul>
 	<li>The writer arrived on site to verify the subgrade for the proposed vault 2 generator pad. The generator pad is a 16’ 8” X 11’ 8” section and was excavated to proposed bottom of concrete elevation at this time.</li>
 	<li>While probing the ground within the footprint, the writer noted approximately 11 feet 8 inches X 5 feet section on the north side, loose to a depth of approximately 4 to 6 inches.</li>
 	<li>The writer recommended this area be remediated by removing the top 6-inches of this section and replacing it with structural fill or #57 stone.</li>
 	<li>The contractor chose to replace the under-cut section with # 57 stone. The subgrade is now acceptable and ready for rebar installation.</li>
 	<li>The form work and the bottom mat of the pad are being installed.</li>
