At the request of the client’s representative, our AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative visited the job site to observe the contractor's work activities from a quality standpoint to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications. The following observations were made on site this shift: Our representative performed a visual inspection of subgrade soils for a (30'x4') area located north of the culvert location highlighted by red in the attached photo. We recommended undercutting soft and organic soils to a depth of 4', and replace with geotextile fabric, followed by 2 feet of rip-rap or similar size stone. Finally, a 2-foot GAB layer should be placed and compact in 1 foot lifts.
