Observations/Finding

Summary *

At the request of the client’s representative, our AS ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING, LLC (ASEC) representative, Amin Azimi visited the job site to observe the contractor's work activities from a quality standpoint to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals and conducted QC testing per the project drawings and specifications.  The following observations were made on site this day.
<ul>
 	<li>Arrived on site, as requested to observe the placement of rebar for the footing of retaining wall 7 (location shown in pictures).  The reinforcing steel was observed for correct size, number of bars, location of bars, spacing, cleanliness, support against displacement, splicing, clearance and steel grade. Based on observation and field measuring, the reinforcing steel at the above-mentioned footing appeared to be placed according to shop/field-use drawing, 1A 0f 3 for size, spacing and quantity with the following exceptions:</li>
 	<li>16 vertical bars were not in place;</li>
 	<li>13 hooks bars were not in place;</li>
 	<li>The contractor was notified of the above-mentioned items. Omitted reinforcing steel was not placed on today's date. The undersigned recommended the omitted reinforcing steel to be completed prior to placement of concrete.</li>
