Summary

<p data-start="186" data-end="568">As requested, the site was visited by our <strong data-start="228" data-end="268">AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC)</strong> representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and material submittals. The following observations were made on site during the day:</p> <ul data-start="570" data-end="2147"> <li data-start="570" data-end="807"> <p data-start="572" data-end="807"><strong data-start="572" data-end="602">Excavation and backfilling</strong> activities were carried out throughout the day. Excavation was performed within the site from cut areas, and additional fill material was imported from an external source using <strong data-start="780" data-end="804">multiple dump trucks</strong>.</p> </li> <li data-start="808" data-end="937"> <p data-start="810" data-end="937">Excavation was performed using a <strong data-start="843" data-end="865">CAT 349E excavator</strong>, and internal hauling was carried out using <strong data-start="910" data-end="934">845C all-road trucks</strong>.</p> </li> <li data-start="938" data-end="1084"> <p data-start="940" data-end="1084">The imported and excavated material was spread using a <strong data-start="995" data-end="1022">Komatsu 61Pxi bulldozer</strong>, and compaction was completed with a <strong data-start="1060" data-end="1081">sheepsfoot roller</strong>.</p> </li> <li data-start="1086" data-end="1303"> <p data-start="1088" data-end="1150">Backfilling occurred in <strong data-start="1112" data-end="1126">Lots 29–31</strong> and <strong data-start="1131" data-end="1147">Lots 103–110</strong>:</p> <ul data-start="1153" data-end="1303"> <li data-start="1153" data-end="1217"> <p data-start="1155" data-end="1217"><strong data-start="1155" data-end="1169">Lots 29–31</strong> were backfilled up to <strong data-start="1192" data-end="1214">subgrade elevation</strong>.</p> </li> <li data-start="1220" data-end="1303"> <p data-start="1222" data-end="1303"><strong data-start="1222" data-end="1238">Lots 103–110</strong> were backfilled to approximately <strong data-start="1272" data-end="1302">6 to 7 feet below subgrade</strong>.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li data-start="1305" data-end="1820"> <p data-start="1307" data-end="1370"><strong data-start="1307" data-end="1341">Nuclear gauge compaction tests</strong> were performed as follows:</p> <ul data-start="1373" data-end="1820"> <li data-start="1373" data-end="1453"> <p data-start="1375" data-end="1453"><strong data-start="1375" data-end="1385">Lot 29</strong> achieved <strong data-start="1395" data-end="1413">98% compaction</strong>, meeting project requirements (Pass).</p> </li> <li data-start="1456" data-end="1701"> <p data-start="1458" data-end="1701"><strong data-start="1458" data-end="1476">Lots 30 and 31</strong> recorded <strong data-start="1486" data-end="1512">89% and 91% compaction</strong>, respectively, which do <strong data-start="1537" data-end="1549">not meet</strong> the required specifications (Fail). The foreman was promptly notified, and rework has been scheduled. Retesting will be conducted in the coming days.</p> </li> <li data-start="1704" data-end="1820"> <p data-start="1706" data-end="1820"><strong data-start="1706" data-end="1722">Lots 103–110</strong> showed compaction values ranging from <strong data-start="1761" data-end="1776">98% to 100%</strong>, indicating that all tests have <strong data-start="1809" data-end="1819">passed</strong>.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li data-start="1822" data-end="1960"> <p data-start="1824" data-end="1960"><strong data-start="1824" data-end="1841">Water removal</strong> was performed from a <strong data-start="1863" data-end="1881">temporary pond</strong> on site. The area was then <strong data-start="1909" data-end="1959">reinforced with rocks and backfilled with dirt</strong>.</p> </li> <li data-start="1962" data-end="2147"> <p data-start="1964" data-end="2147">Additionally, the <strong data-start="1982" data-end="2004">grading contractor</strong> placed <strong data-start="2012" data-end="2027">wet topsoil</strong> in the backyard areas of <strong data-start="2053" data-end="2069">Lots 103–110</strong>, in accordance with the instructions issued by the grading company’s manager.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="2149" data-end="2351">We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project.
