Summary *

As requested, an ASEC representative visited the project site from 09:30 AM to 04:30 PM to provide quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and approved material submittals.

The blasting contractor (Advance Explosive) had planned to blast holes between Manholes A11 and A12; however, due to the breakdown of the truck supplying explosive materials, only nine drilled holes were blasted on 04 September 2025. The remaining holes are planned to be blasted on Monday, 08 September 2025.

The sewer line backfilling between Manholes A3 and A4 was in progress. The material was placed up to the natural ground level, and the embankment contractor will complete the final layers to reach the finished grade of the lots. It was noted that the lift thickness should not exceed the allowable limits specified in the project specifications. Compaction around the manhole was advised to be carried out using a small roller. Safety measures were implemented during excavation and backfilling activities.

Embankment work using rock-drilled material was ongoing in Lots #11, #12, #18, and #19, targeting the final 2 ft layers. It was recommended to the embankment contractor to utilize a water truck to achieve optimum moisture content, as most of the compaction tests were failing due to low moisture contents.

In addition, the embankment contractor was busy preparing the layer at road A where more fill was required from rock blast material. It was recommended to the contractor to break up the larger rock pieces to smaller allowable pieces.
