Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day. <h4 data-start="290" data-end="313">Site Observations:</h4> <p data-start="314" data-end="419">Upon arrival at the Seven Hills Blvd side of the future bridge, the following activities were observed:</p> <ul data-start="420" data-end="623"> <li data-start="420" data-end="479"> <p data-start="422" data-end="479">A <strong data-start="424" data-end="448">Komatsu 39 PXI dozer</strong> was actively spreading fill.</p> </li> <li data-start="480" data-end="562"> <p data-start="482" data-end="562">A <strong data-start="484" data-end="528">Hamm ride-on vibratory sheepsfoot roller</strong> was compacting the placed fill.</p> </li> <li data-start="563" data-end="623"> <p data-start="565" data-end="623">A <strong data-start="567" data-end="588">tandem dump truck</strong> was delivering soil to the site.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="625" data-end="859">It was noted that <strong data-start="643" data-end="701">previous soil lifts and the subgrade were not observed</strong>. The soil being placed was <strong data-start="747" data-end="799">imported from the Seven Hills amenities location</strong> (with the majority being a brown silty sand) and was being spread in <strong data-start="824" data-end="856">approximately 4–6 inch lifts</strong>. At the end of the day Approximately 2.5 feet of fill was still needed to reach correct elevation.</p> <p data-start="861" data-end="1055">A meeting was held with the <strong data-start="889" data-end="922">foreman from Thompson Grading</strong>, who stated that the current fill placement is <strong data-start="970" data-end="983">temporary</strong> and will remain in place until the <strong data-start="1019" data-end="1045">wing wall construction</strong> begins.</p> <p data-start="1057" data-end="1136">No field density or compaction testing was performed during this observation.</p> <p data-start="1152" data-end="1350"></p>
