Summary *

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing fill on Lots #1 through #4 in approximately 6 inch to 8 inch lifts. The lifts were compacted using an 815 sheeps-foot roller and a smaller HAMM vibrating sheep's foot roller. As the contractor works up the natural slope, they are benching out the slope approximately every 1 foot to 2 feet. ASEC performed density testing on the lots and roadway in front of the lots. All failed tests were addressed, and all test results were provided to the contractor. A field proctor was performed on the fill being excavated from the commercial lot area above the Connex (at the entrance of site). The soil appeared to be a dark red silty soil with a large amount of mica present. The remaining stockpiled topsoil was moved to the slope of the front detention pond. The topsoil was spread and rolled in along the slope using a dozer.

The contractor began excavation of a new horizontal boring location by the front entrance to the site. The contractor exposed the gas main and water main by shovel and then excavated the remaining area. The boring is going under Philadelphia Road (near the entrance to the new gas station on the corner of Philadelphia and Hwy 575).
