Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Work started at Pond 3, where the crew excavated soil up to 30feet to accommodate the stormwater detention system footprint. Excavation was performed using a CAT hydraulic excavator, and the area was cut to the required design elevation. After excavation, the trench bottom was leveled and graded, and unsuitable material was removed for subsequent stormwater infrastructure installation. Excavated material was stockpiled on site.

Simultaneously, work proceeded at Pond 1, where soil was excavated to an approximate 25-foot width for installation of the stormwater header system. The excavation was shaped and trimmed to the design lines and grades, and the subgrade was leveled to prepare for pipe placement. A non-woven geotextile fabric was placed along the excavation followed by a gravel bedding layer.

Two corrugated metal pipe (CMP) headers were then installed in the east direction to serve as connection points for the detention pipes extending in the north direction. The headers were aligned and set on the prepared stone base. A total of four detention pipes were designed to connect to the headers, with an approximate 3-foot spacing between each pipe to allow for stone envelope placement and structural clearance.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project.
