Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day. On the above date our representative was on site to observe the paving contractor continue subgrade preparation at Nature Walk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #6 and 4. The subgrade was clipped -4" to -6" to remove saturated in-place soil materials. The existing subgrade average was 6" low that was replaced with additional base stone increasing depths of base stone between 16 " to 18" on average. The low areas were replaced with base stone to save time from attempting to fine suitable compactable soils (which was approved by Mr. McSwain). It was also recommended to place geotextile stabilization fabric at the lower side of the roadway to lessen undercutting of in-place saturated soils. For the two days the contractor has used fabric (155' x 13') and (145' x 13'). The contractor is also placing contract stone over other areas of roadway. The drilling contractor continued drilling at the roadway going to the cul-de-sac for unit 4 phase 2. The pipe contractor continued hauling stockpiled blast rock from Nature Walk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #11 and 12 and stockpiling the materials at unit 4 phase 3. The pipe contractor continued installing CMP storm line at A line unit 4 phase 3. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
