Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew 1 began filling operations at Lot #46. The material was spread using a crawler bulldozer and compacted with a Caterpillar 815. Additional compaction was performed using an articulated dump truck. Density tests were performed, and the results met the required project compaction specifications.

Following this, the crew moved to Lots #62 and 63, where topsoil was cut and removed to a depth of approximately 3 to 4 feet.

On the other side, Crew 2 started work at Manhole A7. The area was excavated to the required depth and leveled to prepare the subgrade. No. 57 stone was placed, and 8-inch DIP pipe was installed from SSMH A7 toward A8. The total installed pipeline length was 176.64 lineal feet, with each pipe segment measuring 20 feet.

After installation, No. 57 stone was placed around the pipe, followed by backfilling with soil in lifts of 6 to 8 inches. Compaction was performed using a double drum roller, and after a couple of lifts, a mini sheep-foot roller and then a full-size sheep foot roller were used to for compaction.

Meanwhile, at the Buford neighborhood site, the crew continued trench excavation using a hydraulic excavator equipped with a rock grinder. The trench measured approximately 15–20 feet in length, 10–11 feet in depth, with a top width of 10–14 feet and a bottom width of 4–5 feet.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project.
