Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Contractor installed manhole A10 and continued installing 30-inch RCP pipe toward manhole A11 for approximately 75–80 lineal feet. Backfill material was placed in 6–8-inch lifts and compacted using a jumping jack compactor and trench compactor. Additional lifts were compacted using a sheep-foot roller. The crew also backfilled around other manholes and compacted the material using a trench compactor.

At Wall 4, DCP tests were performed.
Test No. 1 – 115 feet from start point, high moisture content brown silty sand/clay 1 ft – 6 blows 2 ft – 8 blows 3 ft – 9 blows 4 ft – 9 blows Test No. 2 – 165 feet from start point, red silty sand/clay 1 ft – 9 blows 2 ft – 9 blows 3 ft – 11 blows 4 ft – 11 blows
The contractor removed loose material along the wall, placed No. 59 stone, and installed CMU blocks according to job specifications. Geogrid was placed, followed by fill material, which was compacted using a trench compactor and sheep-foot roller.

At the Buford neighborhood area, the crew continued excavating to the required depth, placed and leveled No. 59 stone, and installed DIP. Fill material was placed; however, compaction was not performed because the jumping jack compactor was not working.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project.
