Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Today, approximately 200 lineal feet of curbing was placed (3000 psi mix) at the Parkway Extension. The curbing placement was not monitored; see photo.

Backfilling on the Mount Moriah (west) side of the bridge continued. Previous lifts placed were unobserved; see photos. Soil was transported from the cut areas of the Parkway Extension using two tandem off-road dump trucks and was loaded with a Caterpillar excavator. The soil was placed with a skid steer and compacted using a ride-on vibratory sheepsfoot compactor and trench packer.

A Troxler 3430 nuclear density gauge (Serial No. 92204) was used to evaluate compaction of the lift located approximately 4 feet below finished grade. Test No. 1 was performed at the north end, approximately 20 feet from the wall. Test No. 2 was performed at the south end, approximately 10 feet from the wall.

At Lot #95, boulder fill was placed, and the area was approximately 10 feet below finished grade. No compaction testing was performed due to the rocky nature of the backfill material.

At the rear of the amenities section adjacent to Seven Hills Boulevard, slopes were being placed by Thompson Grading; see photo. No work was observed on the detention pond or the "Landin" section of the development.
No further observations were made on this day.
