Observations/Finding
Summary
*
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day. On the above date our representative was on site to observe the pipe contractor Savannah continue installation and backfill of 36" RCP storm line at the OCS in the detention pond. The contractor began backfilling over the pipeline and to begin installing anti-seep collars. The writer began observing reinforcing at the anti-seep collars. The writer observed the grading contractor Thompson continue placing fill for the roadway where density tests were performed using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Compaction results were in compliance with job specifications. The tests were performed at elevation -10' (provided by the contractor). The writer also observed proof-rolling of subbase stone for the roadway using a loaded tandem dump truck loaded with 18.64 tons. The proof-roll was also observed with members from Paulding County, J&W Paving and Thompson Grading. The proof-roll appeared stable under traffic with no apparent movement under traffic and was deemed suitable for asphalt paving. The writer also observed the wall contractor RWS begin excavating over placed fill at the abutment removing eight feet in depth and twenty feet from the abutment wall. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
