Observations/Finding

Summary *

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative observed the grading contractor Thompson demo asphalt for the roundabout. The contractor hauled off demo asphalt and also begin hauling off demo concrete and trash debris stockpiled at the building lot. The contractor also continued drying excavated stockpiled washed silt materials from the detention pond at Unit 4, Phase 2. These materials are planned for placement at the slope embankment rear of the amenity parking lot.

The curb contractor J&amp;W was onsite and began forming for the outer and inner curb pour at the roundabout and also meeting with County officials continuing to discuss installation and requirements for poured curbing. The writer observed existing subbase materials after removal of demo asphalt and approved in place materials to be suitable consisting of compacted subbase stone and other areas having soil cement in place. Typical details received from the county showed a minimum of 4" compacted subgrade in place. Existing materials in place was approved for the placement of curbing.

The drilling contractor also continued drilling hard rock at Unit 4, Phase 3 planning to blast on 10/23/2026.

The writer met with the client, the grading contractor and the bush hog contractor to discuss clearing for access roads entrances for under bridge repairs.
