Observations/Finding

The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques wee employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observation were made on site today.

1. The inspector visually observed the placement of the sewer line between MH A5- MH A6 as well as the laterals #5 and #30. The pipe was placed in accordance to project specifications. No backfill was performed along this area today.
2. The contractor continued to finish grade lot #31 as well as lot #32. Approximately 2’ of fill was placed inside of lot #32 and based on review of guidelines for fill placement, the required compaction for structural fill at the above mentioned area is 95% of a standard proctor. Based on visual observation and field measuring, the fill was placed in 10” thick lifts and compacted using a sheep’s foot roller as well as a CAT 815. Based on density testing, the fill placed today at elevations of 1084 though 1086 and was compacted according  to project specifications. See attached density test results for more details.
