Observations/Finding

The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawling/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observation were made on site today.

1. The inspector visually observed the placement of MH A2 as well as 14 liner feet of sewer line being placed East toward the previously installed MH A3. Lateral #36 was installed during the above instillation. All pipe and manholes where installed in accordance with the project specifications. No back fill of this area was preformed this day.
2. MH B1 and M B2 along with the connecting sewer was installed during the above activity’s. During the installation, lateral #25 was also installed. All pipe and manholes where installed in accordance with the project specifications. Approximately 6’ of fill was placed in the above mentioned area. Based on review of guidelines for fill placement, the required compaction for structural fill at the above mentioned area is 95% of a standard proctor. Based on visual observation and field measuring, the fill was placed in 10” thick lifts and compacted using a sheep’s foot roller. Based on density testing, the fill placed today between +1’ and +6’ above the pipe was compacted according  to project specifications. See attached density test results for more details.
