Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today
The writer on arrival to the site was informed by Morris Puckett (site supervisor) that the focus of today’s work would be the excavation and placement of the water-sewer line along MH-B2 to MHB3 and MH-A2 to MH-CA22
The writer observed that excavation and backfilling operations had been ongoing. Prior to the my arrival, 5 – 6 feet of fill had already been placed and compacted (along a section starting from MH-B2 to MH-B3) approximately 110 LF had been placed. Including two pipe connections that extended to lots 24 and 25. A compaction test was performed and based on visual observation, manual probing, and the density test, the compaction was found to be acceptable and within plan specifications. The density test report for this day list the test results for the work performed on this day.
The writer observed that excavation and backfilling operations had also been ongoing in this area as well, 5 – 6 feet of fill had already been placed and compacted (along a section starting from MH-A2 to MH-CA22 ) approximately 90 LF had been placed. Including two pipe connections that extended to lots 36 and 35. A compaction test was performed and based on visual observation, manual probing, and the density test, the compaction was found to be acceptable and within plan specifications. The density test report for this day list the test results for the work performed on this day.
The writer was notified that during excavation, a section (60 LF north of MH-CA22) immediately filled with water, approx 1 foot in depth and 10 -15 feet in length., the contactor filled that area with 57 stone.
