Observations/Finding

The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today

Prior to arrival, the writer was informed by the site superintendent Victor that work was currently underway on lot 160’s footing-rebar installation and that the retaining wall for lot 160 was already in place.

The writer proceeded to the site to perform DCP tests on the compacted backfill material for the schedule of lots that was provided with completed retaining walls. DCP Tests were performed on the areas behind the retaining walls on lots 172, 176, 192 and 168. DCP tests were also performed at the base of the retaining wall for lot 168. The writer encountered rock material throughout soil profiles on all lots making consistent advancement with a hand auger impractical. The DCP density test report for this day list the test results for the work performed on this day.
