Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawling/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following tests were performed onsite this day.

A meeting was held with the ALGC foreman (Freddie) to determine the days activities.

It was observed that all curbs except for storm basins had been installed.  Current work was being performed with a Komatsu PC 36 to prepare for storm drain basins through out subdivision.  It was noted that they were also preparing for sanitary sewer inspection.

Soil was being removed from lots 135 & 136 (approximate elevation of 896 ft) with a Cat D5k bulldozer, Deer 624k skid steer, and Cat 745 dump truck.  This soil was relocated to the cul-de-sac lots 121 & 122 in 12 inch lifts.  This was approximately the 20th lift performed in this area at an elevation of 900 ft. The compaction was performed with a Cat825H.  Two nuclear tests were performed and were not up to the 90% standard required.  Upon discussion with the operator of the compactor more passes were made.  Upon retest the area was found to be satisfactory.  A meeting was held with the operator and foreman of ALGC and a recommendation was made to increase the time of compacting between lifts.
