Observations/Finding
The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today:
A request was made by Josh, the builder at Tributary, to determine the feasibility of a block retaining wall proposed to be 6′ tall and approximately 200′ long running behind homes at Lots #153,154, 155, & 156. We understand that the planned footing to support the wall (as described by Josh) would be six (6) inches deep by sixteen (16) inches wide with a layer of Geogrid placed followed by eight (8) inches of #57 stone being used in the base of the footing.
Edwardo, the excavation foreman, marked the proposed location of the retaining wall. Our representative notified Josh that our testing results were only suitable for the marked excavation. Location photos were taken please see attached.

Probing of the specific retaining wall footing location it was determined that the subgrade soils were suitable for a bearing pressure of 1,500 psf. Several DCPs were attempted; however, due to a mix of stone in the soil several offsets were required due to auger refusal. It appeared that the soils for the outlined location for the retaining wall were acceptable for wall placement. Please see attached tables.
