Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today:
A meeting was held with representatives of ASEC, Ram Mogulla P.E. and Russ Hendrix as well as the on-site grading foreman Dennis. A sandy type of soil had been excavated and moved on site to mix with on-site soils and help lower soil moisture contents. A recommendation was made by Mr. Mogulla to excavate a trench adjacent to the soil stockpile to help with drainage.
Approximately eight dump trucks were used in the delivery of suitable soils to use for lifts on the main road from Sta 12+00 to Sta 21+00. Lifts were placed in 12-inch thickness and compacted using a sheep-foot compactor.
Some pumping and rutting was observed as the dump trucks traversed this area throughout the day. The soil delivered was of mixed types. This was discussed with Dennis.
Several density tests were taken. Please see attached density reports.
