Observations/Finding

The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today:

A request was made for an inspection for Lot #19 at Winslow at Brookstone.  All rebar was observed to be placed as per job specifications in regards to size, spacing and quanty.  A Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) test was performed to determine bearing pressure.  Results displayed a bearing pressure less than 2000 psi and a discussion was held with Ram Mogulla, principal engineer from ASEC, for remediation.  A recommendation of undercutting 6 inches and replacing with additional concrete was made and discussed with the Superintendent Ron from Pulte.
