Observations/Finding

The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today

Upon arrival, our representative found work was already in progress. The contractor was completing the final lift along the sewer line. A Komatsu bulldozer spread fill material brought by two Komatsu dump trucks and was being compacted using a Sakai cp-11 compactor. Density tests were performed and are attached.

Density tests were taken by nuclear gauge Model 3430, Serial 38069.

After density testing was completed, the contractor requested backfilling the 12ft of soil around structure A11. After discussion with Ram Mogulla, P.E. of ASEC, it was agreed that a two (2) foot undercut was required to reach suitable, stable soils prior to backfilling.  Backfilling should be placed in 8 inch lift thickness.
