Observations/Finding

The site was visited by Rasheen Biggins AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today.

Upon arrival to the project site, our representative observed that work was already in progress. The contractor continued to place fill along the dam area. Some fill had already been placed and spread prior to our arrival (no observation of lift thicknesses can be verified). A CAT bulldozer was used to spread fill materials brought by two CAT Dump trucks.  Compaction was performed using a CAT 825K landfill compactor. Density tests were performed on the fill previously placed. Based on the density test results, visual observation of the material placed and random probing of the placed lifts, the fill placed was found to meet job specifications for compaction. Test results were reported to the contractor and are attached.
