Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today.

Upon arrival, our representative found that work was already in progress. The contractor continued placing fill around the A11 structure using a Komatsu 39px bulldozer (soil was bought by 2 Cat dump truck) and compacted using a Sakai cp-11 caterpillar compactor. Each lift placed was observed to be under 10 inches in thickness. Density tests were performed and are attached in a separate report.  The contractor was notified of the results.
