Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative arrived on site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today.

Upon arrival to the project site, our representative observed that work was already in progress. The contractor stated that they were in the process of obtaining borrow soil from a different site.  It was observed that the new borrow soils were arriving on site with a high moisture content.  The contractor elected to spread out the new stockpile and allow the wet borrow soils aerate and dry out before using.  Density tests were performed on fill already placed and compacted earlier.  Results can be found in the attached density report.
