Observations/Finding

The site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today.

Upon arrival our representative observed that work was already in progress. The contractor was removing soft and wet soils from wall structure area.  Prior to removal, trapped water started infiltrate the excavation.  The contractor requested to bridge the inundated area with #57 stone, then backfill with dry soil. After discussion with Ram Mogulla P.E. of ASEC, it was decided that the contractor’s remedial work would be suitable to continue soil placement.
