Observations/Finding
9/18/22
As requested by CWM James Higgins, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative noted above, for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Site Observations:
The contractor Cheoah was on site to excavate and remove an existing 42″ RCP that was running under the taxiway. The excavation area was approximately 75′ long and 15′ deep running from STA 408+50 to STA 409+35. The excavation ranged in width from 6′ at the bottom to 20′ at the top. After removal of the RCP, the area was backfilled approximately halfway back to the top with a mixture of soil, stone, and GAB. Compaction efforts were performed, and a proof roll is required once the area has been completely backfilled.
