Observations/Finding

9/16/22

As requested by CWM James Higgins, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative noted above, for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Site Observations:

Contractor continued work in the taxiway area from STA 4011+00 to STA 406+00 and E-Line between E1 to E2. Fill was placed and compaction testing requested.

A proof-roll was performed for the taxiway area (approximately STA 409+00 to STA 409+80) that had been filled with stone and capped with GAB, first lift with boulder fills at elevation +990.7.  No severe pumping and/or deflection was noted.

Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuke gauge (#3430, serial #29588).

P3 Moisture Density Relationship (proctor) – 118.8 pcf @ 13.0%
P5 Moisture Density Relationship (proctor)- 122.6 pcf @ 9.6%
P14 Moisture Density Relationship (proctor)- 119.8 pcf @ 14.0%

T1 – elevation 991.5, 20′ west of E2, P3, DD 106.9, M% 13.6, compaction 90.0%

T2 – elevation 991.5, 5′ north of E2.1, P3, DD 108.9, M% 11.3, compaction 91.7%

T3 – STA 406+10, P14, DD 115.2, M% 12.7, compaction 96.2%

T4 – STA 406+00, P14, DD 116.3, M% 12.2, compaction 97.1%

T5 – elevation 988.5, STA 409+80 north, P3, DD 110.1, M% 15.6, compaction 92.7%

T6 – elevation 988.5, STA 409+80 south, P3, DD 112.7, M% 15.5, compaction 94.9%
