Observations/Finding

9/12/22

As requested by CWM James Higgins, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative noted above, for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Site Observations:

Contractor continued work in the taxiway area from STA4011+00 to STA 409+00, E-Line between and north of E1 to E2, area around A8, and the Localizer pad. Fill was placed and compaction testing requested.

A proof-roll was performed around the A8 structure at elevation +1002.3.  No severe pumping and/or deflection was noted.

Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuke gauge (#3430, serial #29588).

Density testing results:
M10 Moisture Density Relationship (proctor) – 124.0 pcf @ 8.7%
Lime Proctor – 112.6 pcf @ 16.6%

T1 – elevation 1013.79, localizer pad north, M10, DD 119.6, M% 1.7, compaction 96.5%

T2 – elevation 1013.79, localizer pad center, M10, DD 119.7, M% 2.3, compaction 96.5%

T3 – elevation 989.4, 20′ east of E1, LP, DD 104.6, M% 16.1, compaction 92.9%

T4 – elevation 989.4, 5′ northeast of 2.1, LP, DD 109.8, M% 14.2, compaction 97.5%

T5 – elevation 989.4, 15′ west of E2, LP, DD 103.4, M% 16.9, compaction 91.8%

T6 – elevation 990.5, STA 411 center, LP, DD 103.0, M% 17.0, compaction 91.5%

T7 – elevation 990.5, STA 410+20 center, LP, DD 109.4, M% 16.7, compaction 97.215

T8 – elevation 990.5, STA 410+30 north, LP, DD 105.9, M% 17.0, compaction 94.1%
