Observations/Finding

As requested by CWM James Higgins, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative noted above, for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Site Observations:

The cContractor continued work on H-Line, Localizer, and backfill outside the SIDA fence over water lines, and the area around the A8 structure. Fill was placed and compaction testing requested.
A proof-roll of the area just east of Zone 4 south of the localizer at the north end of area was performed.  No severe pumping and/or deflection was noted.
A moisture content check of the Sullivan Rd stockpile displayed a moisture content of 13.2%.
Observed contractor placing filter fabric in a deep ravine under the taxiway before placing riprap.

Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuke gauge (#3430, serial #29588).

P3 Moisture Density Relationship (proctor) – 118.8 @ 13.0
P2 Moisture Density Relationship (proctor) – 141.4 @ 5.7

T1 – elevation 3′ above water line, Over water line STA 104+05, P3, DD 112.0, M% 12.0, compaction 94.3%

T2 – elevation 3′ above water line, Over water line STA 106+50, P3, DD 109.7, M% 14.1, compaction 92.3%

T3 – elevation 3′ above water line, Over water line STA 107+00, P3, DD 109.8, M% 12.9, compaction 92.4%

T4 – elevation 3′ above water line, Over water line STA 103+50, P3, DD 114.0, M% 11.0, compaction 96.0%

T5 – elevation 1008.5, localizer, P3, DD 107.7, M% 15.5, compaction 90.7%

T6 – outside SIDA fence at Crosswinds Rd/Airport Blvd, P2, DD 127.5, M% 2.3, compaction 90.2%
