Observations/Finding

The site was visited by the undersigned AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawings/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were made on site today.

Upon arrival our ASEC representative found work in progress. Mr. Ram Mogulla P.E. of ASEC recommended that the contractor remove 1-1/2 foot of soft grey soil from the shoulder/lot area (this area was located 20 feet east of wall). The contractor was advised that the first backfill lift should be placed approximately  18 inches in depth. Soil was spread by a bulldozer Komatsu 61px and compacted with a sheeps-foot compactor. Density tests were then taken following the placement of each lift.
