Observations/Finding

Our ASEC representative arrived on site, as requested, to observe the compaction of soils for building pads from Lot #58 to Lot #63, The sheeps-foot roller broke down, so the contractor used a fully load dump truck for compaction. Density tests were then taken.  Test results indicated that the compacted material, at the areas and elevations tested did not meet the project requirements of 95% of compaction.  It was recommended to undercut the soils to a depth of 1.5′ and aerate prior to recompaction.
