Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engerineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals  The following observations were observed on site this day.

Contractor continued work scarifying and aerating wet soils using a dozer.  It was recommended to scarify these soils in drier weather to lower in-place moisture contents prior to recompaction. 

Two in-place moisture content tests were performed with results of 39% and 29%.  These values are well above optimum moisture.
