Observations/Finding

As requested, our ASEC representative was on site to complete a visual inspection of the slab and perimeter footings at Enclave at Parkway Village for Lots #37, 83 and 88.

The footing was evaluated through visual inspection, hand probing, and dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP)testing. During the evaluation, unconsolidated soils were encountered in the upper 6-12 inches of Lot #37 and Lot #83. The contractors were notified to remove these loose soils.

Unconsolidated soils in Lot #83B and Lot #83B-2 were visually classified to be red, tan micaceous silty CLAY with some organic material. The top 24 inches of soil within the 6-foot area of Lot #83B and Lot #83B-3 should be removed and backfilled with either 57 crushed stone or lean concrete.

The reinforcing steel was observed to be touching the surface of the soil on Lots #37, #83, and #88.  Chairs need to be placed to provide proper concrete coverage around the rebar.
