Observations/Finding

As requested, our AS Engerineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative visited the site for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. the following observations were observed on site this day.

Contractor continued backfill for Lots #421, #422, #423 and the roadway.

Upon arrival, our representative observed work was already in progress with the contractor placing 12-inch lifts.  Fill was brought on site by 2 dump trucks and spread using a dozer. Compaction was performed using a Caterpillar 815 F.

Density testing was performed using a Troxler nuclear gauge (#3430, serial #85759). 

Density test results indicate that the compacted materials met the project requirement of 90% of the maximum dry density obtained by the (Standard Proctor ASTM 698).

P-01 Moisture-Density Relationship (proctor) = 100.4 pcf @18.6%

T1-elevation -18 feet from finish grade. Yd 98.5 M%16.1, Compaction: 98.1 %

T2-elevation -18 feet from finish grade Yd 96.6, M%15.6, Compaction: 96.2%

T3-elevation -18 feet from finish grade, Yd 93.8, M%14, Compaction: 93.4 %

T4-elevation -18 feet from finish grade, Yd 96.4, M%14, Compaction: 96 %
