Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engerineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services, visual observation techniques were employed to assure compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. the following observations were observed on site this day.

Upon arrival various earth moving equipment (excavator, dozer, off road dump trucks, & 815F Caterpillar compactor) were being used to place a 12 to 18 inch lift at Lots #421, #422 & #423 as well as under a future roadway.  This lift was placed approximately 25 feet below finished grade.  Off-road trucks were causing some rutting and deflection as soil was being placed. (see photo). A 3/8-inch probe rod was used with a penetration of 3-5 inches in depth.   This was discussed with the 815F operator.  The surface of this area was removed, replaced and recompacted.
